The mystery of Bitcoin’s creator has yet to be solved. On Thursday night, Dorian S. Nakamoto, a Japanese-American identified by Newsweek as 60, categorically denied supporting electronic money.
On Friday, March 7, on the Internet P2P Foundation forums, the accounts associated with the announcement of the creation of Bitcoin on February 15, 2009 were active again. The inventor of the virtual currency will be known as Satoshi Nakamoto (Dorian Nakamoto to be exact), according to the magazine, which has relaunched a paper edition on the subject. He will be 64 years old and live in Southern California. In a humble little house, though his fortune may reach $400 million (288 million euros).
To give substance to his scoop, the publication assured the man would confirm. “I’m no longer involved, I can’t talk about it. Now it’s in other people’s hands. I don’t have any contact anymore,”he would explain, after calling the police to deal with a reporter who had become too clumsy.
Throughout the day, dozens of journalists besieged his home. Then, when he was out for lunch, they bombarded him with questions and followed him to a sushi restaurant. But in the elevator, a turning point: To the Los Angeles Times reporter, Satoshi Nakamoto denied that he was the creator of Bitcoin.
